Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson scored England’s third goal after coming on as a substitute in the Under 21s’ 3-0 win over Albania on Friday night.
The 19-year-old was an unused substitute against Vitoria and it was his first competitive appearance since the 4-0 win over Standard Liege at the start of October following a knee injury.
Fans on Twitter were delighted to see Nelson mark his return to action with a goal:

Sometimes I don't get why some Arsenal fans don't rate him

If we sell him I have a strong feeling we are gonna get hit with a new Gnabry situation

It’s nice to see Reiss Nelson getting on the scoresheet for the England U21s tonight. One month of bad form in a dysfunctional system and people forget what you can do. He’s not even 20 yet. Remain patient and get behind him.

It hasn’t been an easy start to the season for the youngster. He started the first two league games of the campaign, but he has gone off the boil since then.
With Nicolas Pepe established ahead of him in the pecking order, and Bukayo Saka having also made his mark in his absence, Nelson will be hoping to build on his goal at international level in order to get himself back in the first-team picture for the Gunners over the next few weeks.
