Arsenal defender William Saliba remains a major doubt heading into this weekend’s game against West Ham.

The France international has yet to return to training as he continues his recovery from a back injury he sustained almost a month ago against Sporting Lisbon.

With a potential title decider coming up against Manchester City, the club’s medical staff are keen for Saliba not to make his comeback too early and suffer a recurrence.

Eddie Nketiah has, though, returned to full fitness. The striker has been dealing with a troublesome ankle problem that has kept him out of action since the beginning of March.

If he doesn’t suffer any setbacks, the 23-year-old should be back on the bench for the match at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to be out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery, while Mohamed Elneny is in a similar situation, having been sidelined since January.
