Pundit Claims Arsenal Now Have At Least Two Players Who “Could Play For Any Team On The Planet”

ESPN pundit Steve Nicol claims both Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka are now world-class players.

The Liverpool legend was speaking after the Gunners’ 2-2 draw against the Reds when he said that the Arsenal duo have the ability to play for any club:

“There’s a reason why you’re top of the league, because you’ve got good players. You’ve got people in positions that are actually world-class. Ramsdale could play in goal for any team on the planet, no danger, just as Saka could play for any team on the planet.”

Saka’s performances have been widely praised by fans and pundits alike this season but, up until Sunday’s display, Ramsdale’s contributions haven’t been discussed to anywhere near the same extent.

Of course, it should be said that Ramsdale has had his off-days this campaign, although they have been few and far between as Arsenal have mounted an unlikely title challenge.

The saves he made against Liverpool at the weekend were top-drawer and, while it may be slightly premature to rank him with the best goalkeepers in the world, as Nicol has, he is certainly worthy of the compliments coming his way. If he can maintain his current form over the next eighteen months, then he merits being compared to the world’s elite.
