Arsenal Starlet Pays Tribute To Club Legend On Instagram As They Battle City For Title

Bukayo Saka, one of Arsenal’s current superstars, paid tribute to a Gunners legend of the past in a post on Instagram – none other than Thierry Henry.

Thierry Henry was amazing for Arsenal leading them to 2 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups and 2 Community Shields and a Champions League final and even scored on his 2nd debut when he returned on loan from New York Red Bulls.

The post showed Saka replicating one of Henry’s famous celebrations, where he held onto the corner flag with his right hand while his left hand rested on his hip. For reference, Saka included a photo of Henry doing the celebration alongside the picture of himself.

Saka posted the image on Sunday evening, the day after Arsenal dramatically beat Aston Villa by a score of 4-2 to retake the lead in the Premier League table over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The post currently has just under 650,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who liked the post were Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard and Rob Holding. Additionally, Gabriel commented on the post, leaving a love heart emoji.

Thierry Henry is perhaps the most beloved icon across Arsenal’s entire 137 year history. He scored a plethora of goals for the Gunners, many of which were in important games. He also had a penchant for scoring unbelievable screamers – just watch up a compilation of his 10 best goals on YouTube and enjoy the show below…

Saka and Henry are very different players, but Saka’s skills and trickery could lead some Gunners fans to giving him the title of ‘the next Thierry Henry’ especially if he increases his goal output. The young Englishman has some way to go but the fact he is aspiring to be a club legend like Henry says a great deal about his character at only 21 years of age remember.
