Shearer Hails Arsenal Ace For His ‘Brilliant Movement’ As He Names Him In His Team Of The Season

Former England international Alan Shearer has praised Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his performances this season.

With the Gabonese international having scored 17 goals in the Premier League this campaign, Shearer has decided to name him in his team of the season so far:

“The Gabon striker has pace to burn, brilliant movement and has scored consistently despite often being deployed out on the left.”

Shearer is right to highlight Aubameyang’s ability. Not only is he a major threat no matter what position he starts in, his consistency is also something he deserves huge credit for.

As well as scoring 20 goals in all competitions this season, the 30-year-old has bagged 61 in total across the 27 months he has spent at the Emirates.

With a strike rate of one goal every 1.59 games, Aubemeyang has been more than worth the £56million that was spent on him. The major talking point at the moment, though, is whether he’ll remain with the Gunners.

The forward is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract at the club, and there has been no sign that he’ll extend his stay. Will Arsenal have to sell him when the next transfer window opens? We shall have to wait and see.
