Over the past 30+ years of the Premier League, Arsenal have been blessed to have some of world football’s very best strikers pull on the club’s famous red and white shirt.
The question is for Gooners: who is the most talented striker to have played for the club in the Premier League era? We are not just talking about supremely gifted goal scorers here, we are talking about players who could change the game in a number of different ways, be it through their ability to set other players up with goals or simply make players around them better through sheer talent and moments of genius.

Included is a centre-forward signed by George Graham – former Crystal Palace man Ian Wright. Despite joining Arsenal as a 28 year old Wright still went on to become the club’s top scorer before Thierry Henry (an Arsene Wenger signing also an option in this poll) went on to usurp Wright at the top of the Gunners’ all time goal scoring charts.
Which other mega-talented Arsenal strikers did Arsene Wenger sign?
In addition to signing club legend and Arsenal’s leading goal-scorer of all time Thierry Henry, Arsene Wenger was also responsible for signing French hitman Nicolas Anelka for the club. Anelka, like his countryman Henry, was from the same golden era for French football and played at a host of top clubs during his incredible career including Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea to name just a few.
Other Arsene Wenger signed strikers included in the poll are Nigerian marksman Nwankwo Kanu, Dutch striker Robin van Persie and the Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez who ripped up the Premier League in an Arsenal shirt under Wenger before controversially moving to Man United where it went so horribly wrong for him.

When it comes to sheer talent it is hard to look past the non-flying Dutchman in Dennis Bergkamp. Many may not remember the Dutchman was actually a Bruce Rioch signing before Arsene Wenger took over. Creative genius Bergkamp was audacious in the things he tried and pulled off in an Arsenal shirt and may well be the most deserving poll winner for those who witnessed the great man play for the Gunners in his pomp. The Dutchman played a different game to most players using his unbelievable vision to often appear two steps ahead of his opponents.
Mikel Arteta signing, Gabriel Jesus is included based upon the vast potential he could still realise for the Gunners. The 4 times Premier League winning Brazilian, at 26 years of age still has his best years ahead of him and could fire Arsenal to the Premier League title and more. Jesus may well have done so last season had he not suffered the cruel knee injury he picked up at the 2022 Qatar World Cup robbing Arsenal of their main striker for much of the season.
