Paul Merson Predicts The Scoreline As Arsenal Face Norwich City

Paul Merson is expecting Arsenal to come out comfortable winners when they take on Norwich at Carrow Road on Boxing Day.

The Gunners are flying high and, while Merson believes Mikel Arteta’s side are very much “flat-track bullies” at the moment, he doesn’t think they’ll have any trouble dispatching the Canaries:

“Arsenal have been winning as a result of their desire, and if they can overcome their inconsistency, a top-four finish is within reach. Norwich have been causing a few problems recently but Arsenal should be able to blow them away with ease.”

Merson has gone with a 3-0 win to Arsenal, which seems like a pretty sensible prediction, considering their opponents this weekend have not won in five games.

Norwich boss Dean Smith has improved them since being appointed last month, but they still find it hard to keep clean sheets, whilst failing to convert chances at the other end.

In contrast, Arsenal have begun to find their shooting boots in recent weeks, having scored 17 goals in their last six matches, and that’s even without utilising Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the most part. A victory on Sunday would also give Arteta’s men a big boost heading into the Wolves clash 48 hours later.
