Tottenham have made an enquiry about signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to reports in the English media. Spurs are looking to strengthen their options up front, following the injury to Harry Kane, and have set their sights on the ex-Arsenal forward.
Needless to say that the news of Giroud’s potential switch to their North London rivals has not gone down well with some Gunners supporters on Twitter:
As soon as I saw this, I knew spurs was involved… He better not.!

Playing for Chelsea is already a betrayal. He did killed us in the Europa final in Baku. He should know that playing for our rivals is a big no no.

I don’t understand. Must he go there?

If he can mock us after that europa final he is capable of the ultimate deception. No arsenal dna at all.

Giroud will have to think long and hard before making such a controversial decision. The 33-year-old is not getting any game time at Stamford Bridge and is desperate for first-team football to keep alive his chances of going to Euro 2020 with France.
However, he does have a host of other suitors with the likes of Inter Milan, Lyon and West Ham among other clubs who are reportedly interested him. For the majority of fans, it would be an unforgivable decision if he does make the switch across London.
