According to Metro, Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann has taken to Twitter to deny reports claiming the player agreed a deal with Paris Saint Germain, opening the door to suggestions for Arsenal’s long term interest.

Arsenal’s season has hit a bit a lull after the draw against Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have lost big ground to Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool, and will need a miracle to win the title even after their creditable performance in the 1-1 tie with Manchester City on Saturday where they were by far the better side in the 2nd half and probably deserved to win and have at least managed to close the gap on Chelsea by a point to only 5 points now.

Griezmann began his career as a youth academy player for Sociedad, and has been a loyal player to the Spanish club. Since making his senior debut in 2009, the Frenchman has played 172 league games, scoring 45 goals in the process. Due to his French descent, PSG were natural suitors, but Arsenal have been monitoring his progress over the past few years. If they can convince Wenger to sign a new contract, Griezmann could be the start of a signing spree for the club in the summer if they can beat Manchester United to the punch who are reportedly seriously interested in the winger too.
