TV pundit Glenn Hoddle says that forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is head and shoulders above any of the players in either Arsenal or Manchester United’s squad.
Speaking ahead of the encounter between the two sides tomorrow, the former Tottenham player and manager highlighted Aubameyang as the player who could play for any club in Europe:
“This fella [Aubamayang] is different class. How many of those players at United would get into any other team in Europe? I’m not so sure. Paul Pogba at his very best maybe but anyone else I’m not sure. Harry Maguire, possibly. Aubameyang would walk into any team. Any team!”
It is high praise from Hoddle but Aubameyang’s form for the Gunners this season certainly merits the plaudits he has been receiving from pundits and fans.
The 30-year-old has already hit the back of the net seven times in seven appearances for the London club and will be looking to make it eight from eight at Old Trafford.
Three points against United would be a massive boost for both Aubameyang and Arsenal. A win would move them up to third in the table on 14 points, three points ahead of Spurs and Chelsea, and six ahead of United.
