Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson rightfully got most of the plaudits after his sensational last-gasp strike sealed an outstanding comeback win versus Bournemouth on Saturday. However, other players also played their part.
Aaron Ramsdale made a sensational point-blank save from Dango Ouattara in the first half, which kept the score at 1-0.
The Burkina Faso international looked certain to score after a cross from Philip Billing but Ramsdale managed to get a palm on the ball to prevent it from hitting the back of the net. Fans on Twitter paid tribute to the club’s number one after the game:
He’s been so solid this season. Hugely reliable to get us out of trouble every week

He’s had a couple of really clutch saves the last few games, ones where you’re certain we’d concede! Those moments really help us drive on!

I hoped it was offside but you never know with these refs. Great save either way.

Ramsdale has played an important role in the Gunners’ unlikely title challenge this season. He has come up with some big saves when his team have needed him to.
Although supporters will be hoping he isn’t called upon as often in upcoming fixtures, it’s reassuring to have such a reliable player between the sticks.
