Ramsdale Makes Big Claim About Bukayo Saka’s Future That Will Delight Arsenal Fans

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is backing Bukayo Saka to remain at the Emirates for many years to come.

Saka was outstanding in the 4-0 win over Everton on Wednesday night, scoring the opener and setting Gabriel Martinelli up for the Brazilian’s goal just before halftime. However, the winger’s contract does expire at the end of next season and asked about Saka’s future, Ramsdale said he was confident that the 21-year-old would not be leaving the Gunners:

“Bukayo is an Arsenal player and will be for a long time. If he had one week left I wouldn’t be worried about him being here. If he had until the end of the season, I would still see him here on the first day of pre-season.”

“I’m fairly relaxed with Bukayo, let him crack on with his team and the club sort it out and then we move forward. It [the contract situation] is obviously not affecting him, that is why he is not rushing into anything and when it does settle we know we have him for longer than we do at the minute.”

Liverpool, Manchester City and even Real Madrid have been mentioned as potential suitors for Saka in recent months but reports have suggested that he has verbally agreed to sign an extension, even though there has been no official word yet.

Saka has been indispensable this season as Arsenal have mounted an unlikely title challenge. The victory against the Toffees means they are now five points ahead of Manchester City with thirteen games to go. Attention now turns toward the Gunners’ next game on Saturday when they take on relegation-threatened Bournemouth at home.
