Fabrizio Romano Claims High Profile Arsenal Star Could Only Be “Days” Away From Leaving The Emirates

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette could leave the club before the transfer window closes, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist has played down the prospect of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being sold this summer but he said there was a stronger possibility that Lacazette could leave:

“I would keep an eye out on Lacazette more than Aubameyang, talking about transfers. Because there is a chance Lacazette will be leaving in the next days, and so let’s see what happens.”

With Lacazette having less than a year left on his contract at the Emirates, the Frenchman’s departure always looked likely but clubs haven’t come forward with any formal bids for the player so far.

Atletico Madrid have been the team most heavily linked with the 30-year-old but they are not in a position financially to make an offer. Roma were also mentioned before they signed Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham, while there was even talk that he could be used in a possible swap deal for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.

Whether a club will make a move in the coming days, as Romano seems to be suggesting, we shall have to wait and see.
