Arsenal and Manchester United are both weighing up moves for Norwich City fullback Max Aarons this summer, according to reports in the UK.
The 22-year-old could be available for around £20m, with the defender having only two years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road.
Supporters on Twitter are not entirely convinced that the Gunners should be pursuing Aarons, considering there are better options out there, although a few do feel that he could be a decent backup for Takehiro Tomiyasu:
Djed Spence is much better imo. We should go for him

£20m isn’t a bad price, his ceiling is about the same as AWB who United paid £50m for so 🤷🏻

With Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence said to be available for around £5m less, you do have to wonder whether Aarons would be the right choice. Both players are attack-minded right-backs, which is something that manager Mikel Arteta could do with having but, out of the two, Spence does seem to have more potential.
Aarons’ record in the Premier League isn’t exactly great, with no goals and just three assists in 64 top-flight appearances. £20m does certainly seem a bit steep for him.
