Dixon Reveals What Insiders Have Told Him About Arsenal’s Search For A New Manager

Former Arsenal right-back Lee Dixon says the Gunners will take their time in their search for their new manager, and won’t be making any hasty decisions with their next appointment.

The TV pundit revealed that he had spoken to two people inside the club who emphasised to him that the board are trying to make sure they choose the right man to take over from Unai Emery:

“The club have a decision to make right at the top. Once the recommendation comes, and they’ll take their time, I’ve just spoken to a couple of guys I know at the club, and they are not talking about the first person, but the right person.”

Arsenal lost 2-1 to Brighton last night in Freddie Ljungberg’s second game in charge as interim head coach, with the Gunners now lying tenth in the table, ten points off the top four and five points above the relegation zone.

Whether the club’s poor form will lead to the club speeding up their recruitment process, we shall have to wait and see. One manager who is unlikely to take the job is ex-Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri.

The Italian has confirmed he will not be looking to take up another role until the summer as he remains on a year-long sabbatical from football.
