Allegri And Arteta Seemingly Ruled Out From Replacing Emery At Arsenal

Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta are unlikely to be interested in replacing Arsenal manager Unai Emery, according to Goal.com.

Allegri is currently on a year-long sabbatical after leaving Juve at the end of last season, and will only be available again next summer, it is claimed.

Arteta, meanwhile, is also reluctant to leave his post at City before the campaign finishes. The Spaniard is a favourite among some members of the Arsenal board but he’s unlikely to be a candidate to replace Emery midseason.

As previously reported, the likeliest scenario at the moment is that Freddie Ljungberg would take interim charge before a long-term appointment is made.

The current assistant manager could manage the club until the summer when the likes of Allegri and Arteta would become available, but what consequences that would have on results in the meantime, it remains to be seen.
