Arsenal Remain Keen On Signing Argentinian Teenage Sensation With 21.3M Release Clause

Arsenal are still keeping tabs on Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, according to Racingdealma.com.ar.

The Argentinian website claims that the Gunners are one of nine clubs who are interested in the teenager, along with Tottenham, Wolves, Milan, Inter, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and PSV Eindhoven.

Milan are the team who are believed to have made the first offer for Alcaraz, but their €12m (£10.2m) bid has been rejected. The 19-year-old does have a €25m (£21.3m) release clause, although it is believed that Racing may do a deal for around €18m (£15.3m).

Racing de Alma do also suggest that Wolves and PSV are likely to be the Serie A champions’ most serious challengers for Alcaraz’s signature so it doesn’t seem that Arsenal will get involved in the race for the Argentine.

Mikel Arteta’s side were first linked with Alcaraz back in May and it appears that, while they have retained an interest in the midfielder, they are not expected to move ahead with a formal offer.
