Thierry Henry Pinpoints The Games That “Will Decide” Whether Arsenal Win The Title

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says the Gunners’ final five away fixtures will determine whether they will lift the Premier League title this season.

It’s fair to say that Mikel Arteta’s side won’t have things easy in the run-in. Their last five games on the road will be Manchester City, Brighton, Wolves, Tottenham and Manchester United. Speaking about his former club’s chances of finishing top of the table, Henry said:

“The games away from home, the last five games away from home, will decide the title for us at Arsenal.”

That match against City, in particular, could prove to be season-defining. Pep Guardiola’s side went above Arsenal in the table after beating Brentford 1-0 on Tuesday evening.

Liverpool may be first at the moment but it would not be a surprise if the Cityzens are top heading into the match at the Etihad on March 31st.

It’s not wise for Arsenal to look too far ahead

While the Gunners are in outstanding form at the moment, having won their last five games, scoring 21 goals in the process, Arteta will want his players to focus on one fixture at a time.

It was not long ago that the London club’s title credentials were dismissed by some after a difficult period before the winter break. Any dip in form over the next few weeks could jeopardise their chances once more.

Who do the Gunners play before that City game?

Arteta’s men will take on Newcastle at the Emirates this weekend after their trip to face Porto in the Champions League. Following the Magpies fixture, they play Sheffield United (a) and Brentford (h) before the second leg versus Porto. They then face Chelsea at home.

Arsenal travel to the Etihad right after the next international break which will make the game even harder to navigate.
