Sevilla defender Diego Carlos is the “subject of interest” from Arsenal and five other Premier League teams, according to 90min.com.
The website says the Gunners could join the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa, West Ham, Tottenham and Leicester in pursuing the Brazilian, with Sevilla having made teams aware of the centre-back’s “potential availability.”
It is believed that the La Liga club have some financial problems, and it has been claimed that Carlos may be sold if a club makes a bid of around £30m this summer.
The Athletic‘s David Ornstein and James McNicholas have confirmed that Arsenal are in the market for a left-sided centre-back as they look to replace Pablo Mari.
An attempt was made to sign Freiburg’s Nico Schlotterbeck in January but the German international has since opted to remain in the Bundesliga and sign for Borussia Dortmund instead.
Carlos does generally play on the left side, but he is right-footed, so it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old would fit the bill.
