Arsenal Have ‘Started’ The Process Of Looking For Emery’s Replacement With Three Candidates Named

Arsenal have “started” the process of finding a replacement for manager Unai Emery, according to the Daily Mail, but they have yet to make a decision on sacking the Spaniard.

As things stand, the board are prepared to give the Gunners boss more time, but that may change if results continue to nosedive.

Emery’s current deal expires in the summer, so even if they do keep him on board until the end of the season, the recruitment of his successor is already being planned.

With that being the case, the likes of Max Allegri, Mikel Arteta and surprisingly Mauricio Pochettino are being considered as potential options.

The latter is believed to be an unlikely candidate, considering his past association with Tottenham and his remarks about taking over at the Emirates. The two other names were also contenders before Emery took over in 2018.

Allegri has been out of work since leaving Juventus at the end of last season and is currently on a year sabbatical. It is believed that the Italian has fans on the board. Arteta, meanwhile, is a former player but he is also seen as Pep Guardiola’s heir at Manchester City.
