El Confidencial reporter Kike Marin has rubbished claims that Arsenal are interested in signing Espanyol midfielder Marc Rosa in the summer.
There had been reports in the Catalan media this week that the Gunners were keen on recruiting the 23-year-old, who has a €40m (£35m) release clause, but Marin says the Spaniard was offered to the London club after the player switched agents.
Arsenal subsequently opted against making a move for Rosa, and there have been no negotiations over a potential transfer since then.
There have been other reports suggesting that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has prioritised the signing of a defensive midfielder in the summer but it appears that the La Liga star’s name is not on his list of targets.
Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey has also been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates but the Spanish press claim the Ghanaian is close to signing a new deal which would double his buyout clause.
