Arsenal are scouting Genoa goalkeeper Ionut Radu, according to the player’s agent.
Crescenzo Cecere revealed that there are a number of clubs interested in the Romanian international but the club that contacted him most recently about the player was the Gunners:
“There are so many teams interested, including Lyon. Recently, there was also a survey from Arsenal. He is a very interesting prospect since he is growing a lot, from all points of view.”
Radu is currently on loan at Genoa but will make his move permanent for €8m in July. The 22-year-old started the season on the bench but quickly established himself as the club’s number one.
He made 33 appearances in the league last campaign, conceding 46 goals and keeping six clean sheets, as the Serie A side narrowly escaped relegation by staying up on goal difference.
Radu is likely a candidate Arsenal are considering as a replacement for Petr Cech who is retiring from professional football this summer.
The Romanian came through the ranks at Inter but played just one senior game for the Nerazzurri. Most of his first-team experience has been out on loan with 24 appearances for Serie B side Avellino and 33 for Genoa.
