Arsenal are one of the teams keeping tabs on Empoli midfielder Hamed Junior Traore, according to reports in Italy.

The 19-year-old was expected to move to Fiorentina for €12m (£10.6m) in January but the transfer collapsed due to concerns over a heart issue.

Medical tests, however, showed Traore was fit and healthy but the Viola opted against going ahead with the transfer anyway.

The central midfield player has played a key role for Empoli this season despite his young age.

Traore made 32 appearances for the Serie A club, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He was, however, unable to help as his side were relegated on the final day of the season.

Reports suggest that Atalanta and Wolfsburg are both monitoring the Ivorian Under 20 international’s situation, in view to making a bid for the player.

Whether Arsenal will also make a move for the young midfielder, we shall have to wait and see.
