Arsenal are tracking Everton midfielder Andre Gomes, according to recent reports.
The Portuguese international is currently on loan from Barcelona with the Catalan club said to be holding out for €30m (£26m) to offload him on a permanent basis.
The majority of supporters on Twitter appear to be backing the Gunners move for Gomes:
100% yes!!! Anyone who says no, in my opinion; hasn’t watched him play enough

Based on his performance against us, why the hell not?

No. very average and Will not improve our squad.

He’s poor defensively but going forward is very good. Debatable if it’s replacing Aaron, however that’s mainly because Aaron is irreplaceable. If we fail to get ucl then he’s the type of player we should be looking at

I’m a Portugeese gooner and here in Portugal we call him “Concha” which means he is a beast please pick him up??

Yeah way better than xhaka….
— Curtis Shaw (@curtisshaw9) 26 April 2019
Yes please!
Let them have Elneny, Jenko & Lichsteiner in addition to Gomes’ transfer fee

Hell yeah…I love the way he controls the midfield

Not if he’s going to be another Denis Suarez

I think he would be a great signing, he’s a very balanced player and could provide greater control of the midfield ?

The 25-year-old does have experience of playing at the highest level and is available for a relatively modest fee. He also does have the quality to replace Aaron Ramsey, but he would certainly not be a direct replacement for the Welshman.
Gomes is a cultured midfielder, more akin to someone like Santi Cazorla and the type of player the Gunners have been missing in recent seasons.
Still, his time at Barcelona suggests he has flattered to deceive on the big stage and there are huge question marks over his output. The Portuguese star has just two goals for Everton since arriving in the summer.
