Andre Gomes

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder Andre Gomes, according to ESPN FC.

The website reports that the Gunners have been tracking his performances for the Toffees this campaign during his season-long loan spell at Goodison Park.

Everton are said to be keen to sign Gomes on a permanent basis but it appears Arsenal may get involved in the race for the playmaker.

The 25-year-old’s parent club Barcelona are said to be demanding €30m (£26m) for the Portuguese international, with the player deemed surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou.

Gomes’s performances have been praised by pundits this season, but his numbers since joining Everton haven’t been that impressive.

In his 28 appearances for the Merseyside club, the midfielder has managed just one goal (coming against Wolves back in February), and he has made just two assists.

Gomes, who has also been linked with Tottenham in the past, could be another possible candidate to replace Aaron Ramsey, with the Welshman leaving the club at the end of the season.
