REPORT: Arsenal Preparing £14.5m January Offer For Champions League Winning Keeper

Arsenal would be prepared to offer €16m (£14.5m) for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, according to reports in Spain.

The Costa Rican international has fallen behind former Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

After the Belgian’s arrival, Navas was initially used in the Spanish Cup and the Champions League by manager Julen Lopetegui.

However, since the former Spain head coach was replaced by Santiago Solari, he has played just two matches.

It is believed that Navas is taking the winter break in order to weigh up his options. Real Madrid would prefer to keep him as they are concerned about young keeper Andriy Lunin’s suitability to be Courtois’s deputy.

However, Navas is unlikely to be satisfied with his lack of first-team opportunities and could be interested in a move to the Gunners, with Juventus also said to be keen on bringing the 32-year-old to Serie A.
