Arsenal Close In On First January Signing With Bid Lined Up For Polish Teenage Prodigy

Arsenal are looking to sign Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki in the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.

The 19-year-old has impressed since making his debut for the Polish club back in October, and it is believed the Gunners see the shot-stopper as having a bright future ahead of him.

With Petr Cech’s contract expiring at the end of the season, a move for a younger replacement is a possibility. Majecki has reportedly been scouted by one of Arsenal’s goalkeeping coaches to assess his suitability.

The reports back were said to be good, but it is believed that the keeper isn’t yet ready to be a first-team player at a Premier League side. A loan back to Warsaw for the rest of the campaign could be negotiated in order for the teenager to get more matches under his belt.

Majecki has played just eight times for Legia, while he does have some additional experience from a season-long loan spell with second division side Stal Mielec where he made 33 appearances.
