Wright Makes Claim About Two Arsenal Stars That Is Hard To Argue With

Gunners legend Ian Wright says Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang deserve huge credit for their performances in an Arsenal shirt this season.

The former striker says the strike pair have played critical roles and their goals have been crucial for the club:

“You dread to think where Arsenal would be if those two weren’t firing like they have been. Especially [Alexandre] Lacazette recently, he’s been absolutely magnificent.”

Aubameyang’s penalty against Brighton yesterday takes his total to 20 in the Premier League, and 25 in all competitions.

Lacazette has been less prolific, having scored 18 goals this season, but the 27-year-old has been crucial during the Gunners’ Europa League run.

His goal in the second leg against Napoli and his brace in the semi-final first leg versus Valencia could prove to be defining goals if Arsenal go on to lift the trophy.

They go to the Mestalla on Thursday with a two-goal advantage. With Lacazette and Aubameyang in the side, there is every chance of clinching a crucial away goal which could seal the tie and progress to the final.
