Arsenal are considering making a move for PSV Eindhoven right-back Denzel Dumfries, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The 23-year-old has been captaining PSV since November and he has scored an impressive eight goals this campaign despite ostensibly being a defender.
Some fans on Twitter think Dumfries would be a good replacement for Hector Bellerin:
Would be a definite upgrade on Bellerin once he gets adjusted to the league. ??

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta does require his fullbacks to possess a threat in the final third of the pitch, and Dumfries would certainly fit the criteria in that regard.
However, his defensive abilities leave a lot to be desired, and with Arsenal looking to reinforce their backline, the PSV star would not necessarily help them keep more clean sheets.
It will, though, be up to Arteta to decide what is best for the team, and if Dumfries is indeed a top target, fans will have to accept that he isn’t going to be the best defensively.
