Will Rosicky Stay With The Gunners?

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are making attempts to prevent a free transfer of Tomas Rosicky in the summer by offering the experienced midfielder a one-year extension to his current contract, amid speculation that German giants Bayern Munich are interested in his services.

Bayern won all the major trophies last season, with their star winger also Franck Ribery nominated for the Ballon d’Or award. This means Pep Guardiola will have a mega transfer budget to bolster his squad, and Rosicky’s resurgence in form this season has convinced the former Barcelona manager of his abilities to fit into the Bayern lineup.

With just six months to go in his contract, Bayern will ideally offer the Gunners a small portion of his price tag as compensation. Arsenal, on the other hand, will offer Rosicky a generous package for one year in an attempt to squeeze more money from his transfer in the coming summer.

Rosicky was one of the many fine talents scouted by Arsene Wenger in 2006, when he signed for the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in exchange for a £6.8 million transfer fee. Into his 8th season at the London based club, Rosicky is still challenging for a regular first team spot despite the influx of various talented midfielders in the period.

With younger players coming through the ranks at the club, Wenger will eventually look to replace Rosicky, but would inevitably want to receive an adequate fee for him.
