2) He made his debut for Germany as a teenager

Benjamin Henrichs

Henrichs had already been making an impression at youth level for his national team, winning the Fritz Walter medal. He was also featuring regularly for the Under 21s by 2016.

However, head coach Joachim Low decided to hand the player his debut for the senior side in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino at just 19.

Not long afterwards, Henrichs was included in the squad for the 2017 Confederations Cup. He made two appearances, helping his country win the competition.

After missing out on the 2018 World Cup, though, Henrichs’ appearances for Germany became more and more sporadic.
