1) Henrichs came through the youth ranks at Leverkusen

Benjamin Henrichs

Born to a German father and a Ghanaian mother, the defender joined Bayer Leverkusen at just seven years of age, making his way up through the youth ranks.

After captaining the Under 19 side, Henrichs was given his senior debut in September 2015, coming on as a second-half substitute versus Borussia Dortmund.

The fullback played nine more times during the 2015/16 campaign for the first team, including his first European game in the Europa League against Sporting Lisbon.

Henrichs became a regular starter the following season, starting 27 games in the Bundesliga.
