Wenger Eyeing Young Defender As Search For Sagna Replacement ContinuesBacary Sagna, Arsenal’s current number one right-back, is in the final months of his contract and is free to sign a Bosman deal with another club. He is, however, hoping for an improved three-year-deal which is reportedly not in the offering at the moment.

As such, the Gunners have started looking at replacements for the 31-year-old, who has been a loyal servant to Wenger. According to the Mirror, Wenger is certainly looking at alternatives for the right-back slot with Sagna destined to leave for France.

The report suggests that Arsenal are targeting a move for Serge Aurier, who has won seven caps for Ivory Coast at the young age of 21. The defender has impressed for Toulouse this season, scoring a remarkable five goals. He has become a regular member of the team and will reportedly cost Arsenal in the region of £6 million.

Arsenal also have been linked with a move for Southampton ace Calum Chambers as Wenger considers his options at right-back. The north London side already have a young defender in the form of Carl Jenkinson, who is currently playing second fiddle to Sagna but it seems like Wenger is not convinced that Jenkinson is ready to replace Sagna as first choice yet.
