Arsenal have really struggled in the attacking third of the pitch this season, with the Gunners finding it hard to get their shots away on goal.
There has been a big debate over whether moving captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang centrally would make a big difference but some fans on Twitter are hopeful that the reintroduction of young forward Gabriel Martinelli could breathe new life into the team’s forward line:
We really need him

He can’t save this team

He’s surely not the solution to our current problem. Nketiah was preferred by Arteta over Martinelli.

the hope is all that kills us……arteta didnt give him chances when he arrived….he then got injured during training what makes you think he will give him a chance now……..my source: ask nelson, willock, pepe

We miss his intensity up front. Something Auba, Laca & willian doesn’t give us atm. And if they do, its only for a short period of time.
Maybe their age is affecting them? ?

Let’s not pin all hope on him (even if i rate him)
Just like people thought Saliba was the new Varane…— Nick (@reprazent) November 9, 2020
Martinelli has only played 26 games for Arsenal and it would be asking a lot of the Brazilian to come in and make the impact required. The teenager is still in rehab after undergoing a knee operation over the summer.
He is expected to be back in action before the end of the year, but manager Mikel Arteta will need to get more out of the rest of the forwards, at least until the January transfer window. The likes of Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Willian have not been effective in front of goal recently, and the spotlight should be on them, rather than putting all your faith in a 19-year-old.
