Wayne Rooney Names His Favourite To Finish Fourth Out Of Arsenal, Spurs And United

Wayne Rooney believes Tottenham could well beat Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to finish in the top four.

The Gunners are currently level on points with Antonio Conte’s side and have a game in hand, but Rooney feels that Spurs do have the easier games heading into the closing stages of the season:

“I think it is between Arsenal and Tottenham. I have looked at Manchester United’s form and I don’t think they will make an impact, but I have to give the upper hand to Tottenham as they have the slightly more favourable fixtures.”

Arsenal’s game in hand is against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge later this month, and they then host United a few days later, so you can see where Rooney is coming from with his remarks.

Mikel Arteta’s side actually have to play four of the current top seven during the run-in, with clashes against rivals West Ham and Tottenham also scheduled.

The result of the North London derby could well prove pivotal in who qualifies for the Champion League this campaign. The fixture has been rearranged for May 12th, sandwiched between the Leeds and Newcastle matches.
