Unwanted Arsenal Star’s 124K A Week Salary Is Scaring Off Teams From Making Bids

Arsenal have received no offers for Willian this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Brazilian is believed to be surplus to requirements at the Emirates, with the Gunners willing to let him leave if they receive a satisfactory bid for the former Chelsea player.

However, it is thought that Willian’s €7.5m a season (£124,000 a week) salary is putting off clubs from trying to sign him.

It means the 32-year-old could be forced to stay at Arsenal, despite the fact he is unlikely to have much of a role in the first team.

Willian signed a three-year contract when he arrived on a free transfer last August, but he struggled for form in his first campaign and it has been known since May that he is free to leave.

A move to MLS was suggested, while a return to Brazil has also been mentioned, but it is said that the winger wants to stay in Europe. Whether he’ll have much choice in the matter, we shall see.
