Progressive Passes

Ben White

As Timber played as a centre-back for Ajax all season, you would think this metric would favour White, considering he was tasked with playing in a more attack-minded position.

However, if we compare their respective progressive passing stats from last campaign, Timber is the one who comes out on top.

In the Eredivisie, the Netherlands international averaged 8.61 progressive passes per 90 minutes, compared to White’s 7.35 per 90.

It does demonstrate, though, how willing Timber is to pass the ball forwards, even when he is given possession high up the pitch, so he should have no issues playing at right-back.
