None of the goals conceded against Liverpool could be attributed to mistakes by the £50m summer signing, but his customary dribbling out from the back was curtailed.
White still has some convincing to do that he can develop into a top drawer centre-half but it would be unfair to judge him simply by his performance at Anfield. He should have a better opportunity to show what he can do on Saturday.
