The fullback’s limitations on the ball were magnified as he was pressured into making mistakes when in possession by Liverpool. He could have also done better with his marking for Mane’s opener too.
Arteta’s other options at right-back are not exactly any better, though, and Tomiyasu has enough credit in the bank to suggest he will play against Newcastle.
