Three Moves That Could Help Arsenal Win The Title

The Gunners have always had a certain something about them that attracted attention. Either it’s their beautiful way of understanding football or it`s the mysterious way they tend not to fix their everlasting injury crisis, Arsenal will always be the team to watch as far as the Premier League goes. This year interest has grown even bigger as Wenger’s side seems favorite to win the domestic competition. In order to do so they will have to address their lot problems as it is very hard to believe that this lot can handle playing 2-3 games every week. Even if the positions are covered on paper, there is still need for someone to step in and keep up the pace with the rest of the team when needed. Here are three players who, if transferred, could do a world of good both from a short term and a long term perspective:

Defender: Diego Godin – even though he just got an extension on his contract until 2019, he might be interested in moving to Arsenal for the next 2-3 years. An increase in salary and a promise that the Gunners will fight to win the Premier League and the Champions League next year could do the trick. Even if he will be turning 30 in February he is still worth it. Godin is valued at around £20m but he would be worth the effort. Bringing him next to Koscielny would be a definite plus for Arsenal.

Winger/Second Striker: 27-year-old Lucas from Deportivo La Coruna – Used mostly up front, Lucas is one of the most pleasant surprises of 2015. In his 16 appearances this season he managed to find the net 12 times and provide 2 assists. He is versatile and could serve as a good backup for Sanchez or Walcott. He also signed with his current club this summer but it will be hard to say not if an offer comes from Emirates.

Striker: Aleksandr Kokorin – probably the most approachable out of the three, this 24-year-old striker could provide decent competition up front. Apparently Giroud’s sudden burst of enthusiasm in front of goal is caused by the fact that he lost his spot to Walcott. If that is true, a competition among Welbeck, Giroud, Walcott and Kokorin would do a world of good. The Russian international is out of contract this June and is available for around £5m.
