The Athletic journalist, and former BBC reporter, David Ornstein has said that the Gunners could offload as many as three centre-halves this summer.

Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis and Rob Holding could all be sold if satisfactory offers are made for the trio, while there has even been speculation that a fourth, David Luiz, could leave.

With that being the case, the centre of defence will need to be strengthened and it is not a surprise that Arsenal have been linked with a number of centre-backs.
