The Agent Of Nicolas Tagliafico Has Revealed Where His Client Will Be Playing Next Campaign

The agent of Ajax fullback Nicolas Tagliafico has revealed that his client has signed a new contract with the Dutch club.

The Argentinian international has been linked with a move to Arsenal, as well as Atletico Madrid, in recent months, but Ricardo Schlieper has confirmed that the left-back has agreed to improved terms with Ajax:

“Nicolas has just signed a contract for the next season and will stay at Ajax. The new agreement includes an important salary increase. Marc Overmars has raised his salary, with the intention of making him stay one more year.”

A new deal doesn’t necessarily rule out a move completely, as long contracts can be used as bargaining chips when negotiating transfer fees with other clubs.

However, Schlieper doesn’t mention an extension, but a wage increase, with the implication that the money will persuade Tagliafico to stay for another year.

If that is indeed the case, the Gunners may be shopping around for another left-back. Another player the London club have been reportedly interested in is Tagliafico’s Argentina teammate Walter Kannemann.

The Gremio defender can play either as a centre-back or left-back and would be a decent option in a back three.
