Song Set To Join Manchester United

Arsenal’s former midfielder will leave Barcelona after his unsuccessful experience in La Liga. The 26 year old is no longer part of the Catalan club’s plans who told the player’s agent he is free to leave. According to talkSPORT, Song will be returning to the Premier League where he had his career peak. He will not be returning to Arsenal though who already said pass on Fabregas who later on joined Chelsea.

Song only managed 29 appearances for Barcelona despite being transferred in 2012. His transfer sent £15 million Arsenal’s way who needed some time to find a way to replace the 26 year old. He was an important piece in the Gunners’ starting eleven but just like Fabregas, he insisted he should leave. It was a poor choice to make for Song just as it was for the Spanish international. Both failed to become team regulars having to face the likes of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta.

Song could now be reunited with his former Arsenal colleague, Robin van Persie. The Dutchman who became the Premier League’s top scorer after moving to United, could put in a good word for the Cameroonian international who is also being scouted by Inter and Napoli. If an offer emerges, he will probably join Manchester United despite seeing what happened with Fabregas’s Gunner shirts after joining Chelsea.
