Arsenal manager Unai Emery experimented with a return to three at the back against Leicester before the international break, but after the 2-0 defeat at the King Power, he’s likely to revert to a 4-3-3 versus Southampton tomorrow.
Hector Bellerin started his first league game of the season against the Foxes, and he’s likely to keep his place at Calum Chambers’ expense. After being left out for the Leicester loss, Sokratis could also come in to replace Rob Holding.
Kieran Tierney will also likely return to the side, in place of Sead Kolasinac, after sitting out Scotland’s games against Cyprus and Kazakhstan last week.
The big question mark will be whether Granit Xhaka will make his comeback. Emery has hinted that he will, but my feeling is he will be given a place on the bench, with Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira marshalling the midfield.
Nicolas Pepe could also return to form a formidable front three alongside Alexandre Lacazette and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Mesut Ozil pulling the strings from a number 10 position.
Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton:
Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Luiz, Tierney, Guendouzi, Ozil, Torreira, Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang
