Arsenal celebrated former goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny’s 30th birthday by sharing a video clip on their official Twitter account of his best moments in a Gunners shirt.
Supporters responded to the Tweet with many regretting the Polish international’s sale to Juventus three years ago:
Should've never sold the lad….

I’ll never forget his double penalty save at Liverpool

Shame we let him go for a dead Cech

All of the comments saying they regret selling him should remember how inconsistent he was for us. Extremely happy for the lad but don’t think he would have hit his levels if he stayed here. Was too comfortable imo.

Of course he reached his potential when he left ….

This guy should've been our number goalkeeper till now but his character failed him at Arsenal.

Szczesny has certainly flourished after leaving the Emirates, having initially starred as Roma’s number one during a season-long loan before moving on to the Serie A champions.
During his time with the Bianconeri, he has amassed two Italian league titles, one Coppa Italia and one Italian Super Cup, whilst he has managed to keep Gianluigi Buffon on the bench since the Italian legend returned from PSG in the summer.
The decision to sell Szczesny to Juve for just €15m certainly looks like poor one in hindsight, but fans won’t be that concerned with Bernd Leno having performed ably between the sticks following his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018.
