Should Arsenal Make A Move For Xavi?

The 34-year-old Xavi is being offered to Premier League clubs, according to a report published by the Daily Star. The Catalan club are expected to have a transitional summer transfer window with a clear-out on the cards after what could be one of their worst seasons in recent years if they fail to win the title against Atletico Madrid in the title decider this Sunday.

Xavi is reportedly open to move to a top Premier League club, and will not hesitate to exit Spain if Barcelona tells him he is not in their plans for the future.

Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in the playmaker’s services, along with Manchester City and Manchester United. However, City have FFP regulations to contend with and United do not have Champions League football to offer the Spain international.

Xavi is also being targeted by a few MLS clubs, but Arsenal will be favourites for his signature as he believes he still has a lot to offer at the highest level. The report suggests that Xavi is an admirer of Arsenal, who employ a similar style of football to that of Barcelona.

Wenger is expected to bolster his squad in the summer with a huge transfer kitty at his disposal. Do you think the Frenchman should bid for Xavi in the summer transfer window if he does indeed become available assuming Barca fail to win La Liga?
