Serie A Giants Ready To “Listen To Important Offers” As Arsenal’s “Interest” In 26M Spanish Playmaker Is Confirmed

Napoli are prepared to “listen to important offers” for midfielder Fabian Ruiz, according to Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia.

Arsenal have been mentioned as a potential suitor for the Spanish international, and Bargiggia says that the Gunners and Juventus are both keen on securing the player’s services:

“Napoli will listen to important offers, or he will probably be relegated to the bench, as he’ll be excluded from the club’s project. I bring back the interest from Arsenal and Juventus, even if the Bianconeri cannot make proposals worth €30-40m.”

Bargiggia’s valuation is in line with previous estimates from other sources. With just twelve months remaining on Ruiz’s contract, Napoli won’t be able to ask more than €30m (£26m) and €40m (£35m) for the player.

Whether the 26-year-old is a priority target for Mikel Arteta’s team, though, it is doubtful at the moment. The vast majority of reliable journalists believe that Leicester’s Youri Tielemans is the number one option.

The Belgian is in a similar situation to Ruiz, having a year left on his current deal, and he will likely cost a very similar amount too. It’s possible that the Napoli midfielder is a backup plan for Arsenal.
