Romano Confirms Negotiations Are Underway To Sign German International But “Not A Done Deal”

Arsenal are currently in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a swap deal involving Julian Draxler and Matteo Guendouzi, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist has been busy replying to questions on Twitter this morning, and he mentioned that reports coming from France are true but, although negotiations to sign Draxler are underway, no agreement has been reached yet:

Draxler has been linked with a move to the Emirates consistently over the past few years, with reports going back as far to his time in Germany before he moved to PSG. The 26-year-old did find game time difficult to come by last season, mostly due to injury, and it seems his club are open to exchanging him for Guendouzi, with the German international within the final twelve months of his contract.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will agree to the player exchange, mainly due to the fact they were hoping to raise funds from Guendouzi’s sale in order to finance bids for the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey.
