Arsenal will consider “serious offers” for midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones.
The reporter claims that despite playing 14 times in all competitions this season, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has decided that the Swiss international is no longer indispensable.
It was only a year ago when Xhaka was persuaded to stay by Arteta. He seemed destined to leave for Germany after a serious fallout with supporters following an incident against Crystal Palace in October last year.
The 28-year-old credited the Arsenal manager for showing faith in him and helping to turn his career around at the Emirates, but it appears that the midfielder could be shown the door when the transfer window opens next month.
Arteta does have plenty of options in the middle of the park, including Thomas Partey, Dani Ceballos, Mohamed Elneny and Joe Willock and it could be the case that the Gunners are looking to raise funds to purchase more creative players.
