PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo is torn between staying at the Dutch club and seeking a new challenge away from the Eredivisie, according to Eindhovens Dagblad (via Football.London).
The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Leeds have all been mentioned as potential suitors for the Netherlands international but, so far, no team has matched the player’s €40m (£33.5m) asking price.
Gakpo revealed back in May that he was considering his options. Despite hoping to have his future sorted by now, he is currently still none the wiser about where he will be playing his football, with just a month to go before the transfer window closes.
The Gunners are looking to recruit a winger, as demonstrated by their pursuit of Raphinha, but they have not shown any intention of making a bid for Gakpo this summer.
The Dutchman may well simply be a backup option that could be revisited if Mikel Arteta’s side can’t land one of their main targets.
